A Sovereign Charter, Carved to Outlast Us

Aletheia — ἀλήθεια — is truth as unconcealment: what remains when the mask is removed. On the Pnyx hill, any citizen could mount the bema and speak with parrhesia — total frankness — to power itself. We are the modern institution of that ancient right.

Article I · The Sovereign Charter

No verified truth shall be lost. No verified truth-teller shall be abandoned. No power — state, corporate, or private — shall outweigh the endowment sworn to their protection.

Governance

The High Council

Nine jurists, editors, and scientists serving single non-renewable terms — no one can be captured or bought over time.

Permanence

The Endowment

An irrevocable trust across multiple jurisdictions, publicly audited, built to survive any single government's reach.

Honour

The Laureates

Honoured in the manner of the Nobel, protected in the manner of a state.

The name

A hill and a word older than every modern division.

The Pnyx is the hill in Athens where the citizens' assembly met, and where any citizen could rise to speak. Aletheia is the Greek word for truth understood as unconcealment.

The Foundation carries both names deliberately: they predate every modern political and religious division, and belong to no one.
