The Convocation
A Seat in Geneva. A Ceremony on Every Continent.
Where a prize is given says as much as who receives it. The Foundation therefore separates its seat from its ceremony — so that no single state, and no single hemisphere, can be said to own the honour.
Geneva
The prize committee sits permanently in Geneva, among the institutions of international humanitarian law and press freedom, in a jurisdiction whose neutrality is legible almost everywhere. The decree is issued there. It is not conferred there alone.
The Rotating Convocation
Each annual convocation is held on a different continent, in the order of the six Hubs, in civic or academic venues — never religious ones. The Days of Recognition already carry the Foundation across the world: to Rome for Bruno, to Prague for Hus, to Alexandria for Hypatia, to Ogoniland for Saro-Wiwa.
The Empty Chair
A truth-teller under a travel ban, in hiding, or refused a visa must never be a truth-teller the world cannot honour. Where a Laureate cannot come to the convocation, the Foundation goes to them — or the decree is read before an empty chair, and the reason for that chair is read aloud with it.
Neutrality is not declared. It is built.
Open to every person of any political or religious affiliation, and to none.
That openness rests on rules, not assurances.
No state funding
The Foundation accepts no government money, from any government, in any amount. This rule is in the Charter and cannot be amended by a future board.
No bloc majority
No more than two of the nine High Council seats may be held by nationals of any one country, and no regional bloc may hold a majority.
Published criteria
The Euthyna standard is published in advance, so every selection can be checked against a stated rule rather than a prevailing mood.
No single direction
No cycle honours disclosures against only one government, one industry, or one ideology. A prize that names power on one side alone is not a prize for truth.
Civic ground
Convocations are held in civic and academic venues. The Foundation takes no position on any faith, and honours truth-tellers of all of them and none.
Ancient framing
The Foundation is named for a hill and a Greek word that predate every modern political and religious division — deliberately.
The Days of Recognition
Rome. Prague. Alexandria. Ogoniland.
Each Posthumous Laureate is honoured where their truth was told.
